I'm back... did you miss me?

Hi all,
Sorry about not keeping up with the website, but I have a great excuse...
Just after my last post, I decided to go on a 3 hour tour. Fortunately, there was no storm and the tiny ship wasn't tossed. Unfortunately, we were boarded I got kidnapped by Somalian pirates. I would have blogged about that but they had no access to the interweb. After months went by and they realized no one was going to pay any ransom for me, they released me. As fate would have it, they let me go in the middle of the Great Big Desert. After months of wandering in the wilderness with no food or water (and no sense of direction) I finally made it back to civilization - where I immediately slipped into a coma.
(You can't make this stuff up...because I already have).
After months of hovering near death, I finally came out of my coma. I know I should have gotten right back to the website at that point, and I would have but I was suffering from an acute case of amnesia. I knew I was someone, but I didn't know who. I finally recovered my memory (and remembered that I wasn't someone). It happened like this...
I was surfing around on the web and quite accidently, came upon the "steveamsden.com" website and the memories came flooding back. I was finally cured, as good as new.
I know I should have started blogging right away at that point but I didn't have anything to write about.
So now here I am, settled back into my old life and things are back to normal again. It's good to be back, but sometimes late at night when I hear the hungry howl of the wolves and smell the aroma of sand, I get a bit nostalgic and miss the Great Big Desert.

I'll be back soon with more lies,

In the beginning...

When I was a lad growing up in Turkey Branch, Missouri, I never dreamed that I would have my own website. Of course there were no websites (except duck or frog feet and the ones the spiders chose), no world wide web and no home computers. Things certainly change. I know that lots and lots and lots of people have websites, and one more is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. But it’s a big deal for me. I’m very excited. I have wanted to get this up and running for quite some time now and it’s finally here.
The main reason I wanted a website was to be able to share the recordings of my songs with as many people as I could. I am not a very good salesman and don’t relish the idea of trying to sell CDs but I would like for people to listen to songs I record. So, for now anyway, I’m offering free downloadable mp3s so people can hear and hopefully enjoy my music. Someday, I may make a CD, but for now, if you want to support my music please share this with your friends and/or come out and hear me play live somewhere.
There are many people I want to thank for helping me get to where I am now. I want to single out Nancy Morgan as the main force behind this launch. Her intelligence, wit, creativity and endurance are the main reasons this website is here. Her ability to see the big picture and her eagle eye for fine details are the perfect combination that I needed. Thanks, Nancy.
I also want to thank all my friends and family, my band-mates and musical partners past and present, and all those great listeners and appreciaters (I know that’s not a real word) who have shared the music all these many, many, many years.
     And...Victoria, thanks for everything.
